The brick and stone detailing allows this mixed use building to engage in a respectful dialogue with the traditional streetscape of the neighborhood.
All of the brick of the façade is laid with a bright red mortar which works with the red windows to produce a rich color scheme reminiscent of the Chicago buildings of the early part of the twentieth century.
The fifth unit rises above the body of the building on the north in a tower-like mass which interlocks with the stair tower, and forms a pleasingly asymmetrical composition.
