The design was inspired by the Prairie School of architecture with repetition of piers and continuous banding at the base.

Each unit has an individual identity, while contributing to the overall composition. This was accomplished by varying the scale of the piers, brick colors, and limestone details.

The project was subject to the City of Chicago Lakefront Protection Ordinance.
